The CAS Fingerprint Identification
Package provides for identification and/or verification of a
defendant by fingerprint. Some of the features of the Fingerprint
Identification Package include: |
|
Fast and Accurate Searches
Up to 50,000 Fingerprints are
searched per second. Searches can be completed on one to ten
fingers with AFIS, which accommodates both fingers and thumbs.
From an identification and
verification and of a defendant's fingerprint, the CAS application
has the ability to reference a defendant's history of; traffic,
misdemeanor, or felony charges; any current or pending cases; and
previous case histories or outstanding warrants. Records can be
further searched for information such as; when the defendant was a
line-up suspect, the defendant's OBTS (arrest) history, domestic
violence history, and if the defendant has ever failed to appear
for court or ever been on probation. |
|
Fingerprint Image Storage
Fingerprint Minutiae Templates
are very small image files. They require only 500 Bytes of storage
each, enabling 400,000 fingerprints to be stored on as little as
200 Mb of disk space. These fingerprint images are stored in the
same manner as scanned documents, and can be accessed by multiple
users simultaneously. The fingerprint(s) can be displayed on a
workstation (in the courtroom or jail area, for example) along
with the defendant's demographic information. Image integrity is
enforced with a proprietary security routine preventing alteration
of the original fingerprint images. |
|
Flexible Capture Methods
Fingerprint images can be
captured from a digital fingerprint reader, flatbed scanner, or
electronic transmission. When using the digital fingerprint
reader, the defendant simply places a finger in the Positive
Finger Guide of the Identification Matcher. |
|
Software Flexibility
The fingerprint software package
will allow compensation for various skin conditions and finger
pressures, providing optimum image quality. The use of 500 DPI
Resolution, 256 shades of gray, NIST/ANSI/Compliance, and AFSI
compatibility makes this a very robust system. |
