Clerk Announces Online Access to Plats and Condos
The Charlotte County Clerk of the
Circuit Court is pleased to announce that she has launched a new
addition to her official website on November 1, 2003 that provides
online access to Plats and Condos and can be found at the
Plats and Condo Home Page
The new option allows users to:
- Search Plats by book page and
description
- Search Condos by book page and
description
- Search Right of Way by book
page, section, project and road
- Search Bordering Counties by
book page and description
- Search Coastal Construction by
book page and description
A complete archive (historic to
current) is now available online with over 5,000 images that display
in standard PDF format. New images become available online one
business day after recording.
The automated engine greatly enhances the speed and accuracy of the
search and images are easy to read and scalable.
Barbara T. Scott, Clerk of the Circuit Court, stated, "this new
feature is consistent with my vision to assure that we are the
globally recognized leader in the real time delivery of information
services."

Court Clerks and Comptrollers elected Barbara T. Scott,
Clerk of the Circuit Court of Charlotte County, its association president for the upcoming year. Scott was elected at the annual conference in Orlando by the non-profit

Clerk's computer system makes
records accessible When Barbara Scott first took office as
Clerk of the Charlotte County Circuit Court in 1985, she had a vision. In
March 1999, Scott's vision came true when the office unveiled its Court
Automation System. It not only fulfilled a state mandate that county courts
computerize their records, it set a benchmark that other Florida counties are

payments! Civil Traffic payments can now be made using your
Credit Card (Visa or MasterCard) at the Clerk's Office located at the Justice
Center, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except holidays). Cash,
check or money order payments are still accepted at all Clerk offices. |

Also present at the conference was an international faculty covering
new advances and best practices in e-commerce,

offering online access to court records.
Getting a traffic ticket can be
frustrating and expensive. Having to stand in line to pay the
penalty could certainly add to the displeasure. Clerk of Court Barbara T. Scott
and her staff have already reaped national recognition for their
Web site, which Scott refers to as "cutting edge."
